• Travel time 2 to 2.5 hrs
• Take the Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) and head south over the Bombay Hills
• Keep going until you reach Ngarawahia
• At Ngarawahia turn right into State Highway 39 (at the Big BP Station)
• Across the railway lines turn left and head to Otorohanga
• At Otorohanga turn right into State Highway 3 and head south
• Approx 11kms from Otorohanga you will arrive at the intersection of SH 3 and SH 37. Turn right into SH 37 and keep driving until you reach the Waitomo Caves Village (approx 8 Kms)
• Waitomo TOP 10 Holiday Park is located on the right hand side of the road as you come into the village
• Look for our distinctive yellow and blue Top 10 sign

• Keep left at all times
• If you are looking for somewhere to stop for a short break try the “Hoppin Stoppin” Cafe at Taupiri, about 5 minutes drive south of Huntly. This cafe offers great coffee, tea, food and service. We stop there regularly.
• If you require food and beverages and/or fuel we suggest you stop at Otorohanga to pick these up. There is a Woolworths Supermarket just as you turn right into SH 3. There is no petrol station in Waitomo and while we have plenty of eateries, there is no store to purchase meat, vegetables etc.
• Short-Cut: If you don’t need food or fuel, then turn right into Waitomo Valley Road about 3kms before Otorohanga. Follow this road to the end (approx 12kms) and turn right.
• You have arrived at Waitomo Caves Village

• Head North out of New Plymouth on SH 3
• Stay on SH 3 right through to the “Hangatiki” intersection of SH 3 and SH37
• Turn left into SH 37 and keep driving until you reach the Waitomo Caves Village (approx 8 Kms)
• Our holiday park is located on the right hand side of the road as you come into the village
• Look for our distinctive yellow and blue Top 10 sign

• For a great “short break” try the coastal village of Mokau. It famous for it’s Whitebait. There are a couple of cafes where you can get a nice coffee/tea and good food. Try the Whitebait Fritters
• If you require food and beverages and/or fuel we suggest you stop at Te Kuiti to pick these up. There is a New World Supermarket and Shell petrol station at the northern end of town. There is no petrol station in Waitomo and while we have plenty of eating places there is no store to purchase meat, vegetables etc

• There are 2 main routes from Rotorua: Our preference is the southern route
• Drive south out of Rotorua on the Rotorua/Taupo road
• Just out of Rotorua turn right into SH 30
• Travel the length of SH 30 until you come to SH 1
• Turn left into SH 1 and head south until you reach Atiamuri,  where you turn right into SH 30 again
• Stay on SH 30 until you arrive at the township of Te Kuiti
• Drive through the township, across the railway lines at the northern end, and join onto SH 3
• Stay on SH 3 right through to the “Hangatiki” intersection of SH 3 and SH37
• Turn left into SH 37 and keep driving until you reach the Waitomo Caves Village (approx 8 Kms)
• Our Waitomo motel and holiday park accommodation park is located on the right hand side of the road as you come into the village
• Look for our distinctive yellow and blue Top 10 sign

• For a great “short break “ try the small village of Whakamaru. You can stretch your legs with a short walk across the Whakamaru Dam (on the mighty Waikato River). There is a nice cafe there that serves great coffee/tea and good food.

• Turn left into Poihipi Road at the top of the hill as you leave Taupo
• Travel the length of Poihipi Road and at the end turn right into SH
• Follow SH until it joins SH 30 at Whakamaru
• Turn left into SH 30
• Stay on SH 30 until you arrive at the township of Te Kuiti
• Drive through the township, across the railway lines at the northern end, and join onto SH 3
• Stay on SH 3 right through to the “Hangatiki” intersection of SH 3 and SH37
• Turn left into SH 37 and keep driving until you reach the Waitomo Caves Village (approx 8 Kms)
• The Waitomo Holiday Park is located on the right hand side of the road as you come into the village
• Look for our distinctive yellow and blue Top 10 sign
